Mommy Mundo Expo Mom

Mommy Mundo Expo Mom North 2017 was held last weekend July 15-16, 2017 at the TriNoma Activity Center. Expo Mom is an event for modern moms and families.


The event has an entrance fee of ₱25, which I think they use for their community programs. You'll just need to register, pay the fee, and you'll get an entrance stamp and samples of Caltrate Plus Calcium Supplement.


During the Expo Mom North 2017 event, there were roughly 50 vendors or participants, which were Baby Hub, Babycuddle Ph, BabyZone / Little Tree, Bite Block, Cambridge Philippines, Casted Treasure, CEO Emporium, Cricut, Cusina Dishwashing, Cycles and Cradle, Darlington, Discovery Depot, Enchanted Kingdom, Enfant, Fatty Brain Toys, Foldaway Philippines, Fun Ranch, Halo Philippines / OXO Tot, Happy Dragon, Iflin Baby, Incy Rooms, Indigobaby, Kidzania, Lily and Tucker, Loveyoumom, Mamas & Papas, Mamaway, Marcus & Marcus, Mighty Baby, Mini Melissa, Mome, Mommy Mundo,


What I have in mind before this event kick off was I will definitely visit Indigobaby and check out their Boncho Nursing Poncho.

Semifinals match-up between Batch 2001 vs. Batch 1998 of the SHAN Alumni Basketball League Season 7 (2017). It's a do or die game!


The game was held last Sunday, July 23, 2017 at SHAN (Sacred Heart Academy of Novaliches) Basketball Covered Court in Quezon City.


Whichever team wins advances to the Finals to compete with SHAN Parents.












Batch 1998 wins over Batch 2001 by one point. The games was very exciting!!!

Pepeton's Grill and Catering

Pepeton's Grill and Catering is known for their "Kapalmuks" or Fried Pork Face! I've already tried it before but wasn't able to blog about it. Pepeton's Grill and Catering takes pride in their hot-off-the grill meat and seafood dishes.


Here's the restaurant's interior, its dim lighted, cozy, well ventilated, and perfect for families. 



Pepeton's also has a veranda and grilling area that's perfect for barkada night outs.


My husband and I dined-in in this restaurant because I want to taste their other food choices. I expect it to be special and extraordinary just like their Kapalmuks, which I really like! This was during lunch time, I think their customers were frequent during night time given that the restaurant has a big space.


First stop is Pepeton's Palabok Rice, which costs ₱199, rice cooked in Palabok sauce topped with shrimps, hardboiled egg, chicharon (pork rind) bits, and spring onions. We we're so curious about this so we immediately pick this one from the menu. It really tastes like Palabok, just a milder version and with less sauciness. I think it is worthy for its price because the serving is big. However, the shrimps were a bit overcooked and the chicharon (pork rind) bits were makunat.


Hot-off-the-grill is this Grilled Blue Marlin ₱325. My husband loves Grilled Blue Marlin so whenever this dish is on the menu, we order it. Unfortunately, we were not so happy about Pepeton's Grilled Blue Marlin because it was overcooked and I think the fish wasn't fresh anymore before it went to the grill.


Last is Pepeton's Chopsuey that costs ₱179, a classic Chinese dish that has various vegetables and meat in a starchy thickened sauce. Vegetables were cooked just the right way, it taste good but nothing extraordinary, and the price is just right because of the serving.

Aside from grilled dishes, Pepeton's Grill and Catering has a wide variety of Filipino food choices, their Appetizer alone has twenty variants.


They have Soup, Noodles, Vegetable dishes, Seafood, Pork, Fish, Barbecue dishes, Chicken, and even Goat meat dishes.


Our dining experience at Pepeton's Grill was okay, although it didn't reach my expectation. The staffs were courteous and friendly.

THE ANT ATTITUDE

You are always looking for someone to serve as a role model that you can copy so you can become successful too. You are looking for rappers, politicians, celebrities, sports stars but most of them are fake. They are telling everyone that they are working hard, that they are doing good things for the community only to find out that some of them were bums too. Some of them were addicts, alcoholic, broke and mentally unstable.

If you want to have someone to look up to that you can copy and become successful too... look for the ants. Look at them, they just keep going and going and going. They don't care if you step on them, disturb them or disalign them. For as long as they are still alive... they will keep working and working because they know how to live well. They were very simple, single minded and all they want is to look for food so they have something to eat during rainy season. In other words , they are prepared for the storm, nothing can stop them, nothing can break them mentally.

They will bite you if needed, they will look for ways, they keep on moving forward. Even if an ant is alone... he is not even bothered, he will look for a way how to get food. He will do it on his own and find his way back home. He will never stop until he get something.

That is the mindset you need in life... you just need to keep moving forward, know what you want and relentlessly fight for it, work for it, grind for it. You don't need to think about anything else, just make the process simple and never stop until you succeed. Because you can always find a way if you really want it, you don't need to know how are you going to do it... just move and the right steps will be unfolded along the way.

Most of you were cry babies, you always look for what is missing in your life. You are looking for someone to idolized, you didn't know that a simple insect is better than you. You are always complaining how hard life is but look at the ants... no matter what challenge they face, they still keep moving forward.

Homemade Traditional Kimchi

Korean dramas or also known as Koreanovelas started around early 2000's here in the Philippines. From then on, Korean wave has struck many Filipinos. We love Korean stars, K-pop Music, Korean fashion, and of course Korean food! These are some of the Korean dishes that we Filipinos like, Kimchi, Bibimbap, Bulgogi, Japchae, Korean-style Fried Chicken, Tteokbokki, Jjajangmyeon, and Korean BBQ. My favorite from this list is Kimchi because I can consume or pair it with a lot of food including Filipino food. Kimchi is a staple in Korea, it is their traditional side dish or banchan. It is fermented vegetables with seasonings like chili powder, ginger, garlic, scallions, and more. There are so many varieties of Kimchi, the most famous is Napa Cabbage or Pechay Baguio and Korean Radish.

Jollibee's Choco Mallow Pie is Back

Jollibee's Choco Mallow Pie is like the Pinoy version of S'more, except the graham cracker that is replaced by the flaky pie. The combination of chocolate and melted gooey marshmallow filling is so delectable! You can enjoy it while it's steaming hot or even a bit cold. I tried to put it in the fridge before eating because my tolerance for hot food and/or drink is pretty low. It still tastes the same and the chocolate filling was less runny.


Choco Mallow Pie costs ₱32 for solo and ₱89 for a set of 3 Pies-to-go. Jollibee's Choco Mallow Pie is a seasonal food item, so grab it while it's available.

Dohtonbori SM City Fairview Opening Soon

Dohtonbori is a Japanese restaurant that has over 300 stores in Japan itself. They opened their first store here in the Philippines last 2015, now it has five branches including Dohtonbori SM City Fairview that will be opening soon at the Upper Ground Floor besides Burger King and Mary Grace Cafe.

Dohtonbori's best seller or specialty is their authentic Japanese Okonomiyaki, Okono means "what you like" and Yaki means "grilled". Okonomiyaki one of the most popular staple food in Japan, it's a savory pancake or omelette that has variety of ingredients such as meat and vegetables, then topped with bonito flakes, Japanese mayonnaise, seaweed flakes, and more. Dohtonbori also offers other Japanese food such as Sukiyaki, Hiroshima Yaki, Yakisoba, Yakiniku, Monjayaki, and more. I haven't tried Dohtonbori yet, but will surely try it in the future!

Human Nature's Moisturizing Shampoo is one of their shampoo varieties. It is best for hydrating and softening dry or rough hair. Human Nature Natural Shampoo is 96.5% Natural, SLS/SLES-free, Paraben-free, and Silicone-free. Some of its ingredients are aloe vera extract, avocado oil, and virgin coconut oil.

I have been using this shampoo for pretty long now as well as Human Nature Professional Salon Care Shampoo. I love its light vanilla fragrance that lingers into your scalp and hair, however the smell doesn't stay long I'm guessing it's because they only uses natural ingredients. When you use it it's not that foamy compared to your usual commercialized shampoos because it's SLS/SLES-free which is a foaming ingredient. Sunshine's Breadmart Special Biscocho from Aklan

Biscocho is a toasted bread usually topped with butter, sugar, milk, and garlic in rare cases. I really love eating Biscocho because it's sweet, I like the texture of it which is a bit crunchy and at the same time quite spongy.


This bread is a popular specialty of Iloilo Province, because of its popularity nearby provinces such as Bacolod, Aklan and Cebu also created their own variety. Biscocho is best eaten as a snack paired with hot drink such as coffee of tea.


Sunshine's Breadmart Special Biscocho tastes as good as other biscocho brands in Iloilo and Bacolod. The best quality of Sunshine's Breadmart Biscocho is that it is not well toasted so it's not that hard to eat.

I have been seeing this baked goodie in many of my foodie social media groups for quite some time now. I'm wondering what the fuss is about, so I here it is, I bought Super Delights Brownie Bites in a decent stall in Novaliches market.


The first thing I noticed is that it is a bit heavy for its size meaning it's dense. My first bite was awesome, the outer part is a little brittle while inside it is fudgy but less on the moist side. That is a perfect combination for brownies. I like the taste, it's not that sweet and the amount of chocolate added is exactly just right. Once you tasted it, you'll never stop until you empty that one pack! My husband and I were able to finish it in one seating, it served as our dessert.


Where can you buy Super Delights Brownies Bites? I bought it at a market stall in Novaliches proper that also sells other baked goods, crackers, candies and more, and it costs ₱55. I researched that you can also buy Super Delight Brownies at some groceries, mini-groceries, markets, and online. But beware because some online sellers are exploitative, some sells it for ₱100+ per pack. Now I know what the fuss is about, I will buy more packs of this Brownie Bites next time!
