Today is a special day for me and my family. It's my 37th Birthday and our 6th Wedding Anniversary! We had a very simple and happy celebration at home, normal everyday food, store-bought cake, some picture moments and chasing our toddler.

And this surprise Birthday Cake given by my youngest sister. Dainty, super cute, and really touching customized design picked by my sister!!! It's me during my wedding day, how thoughtful of my sister to also include a touch of our wedding anniversary on the cake.

This beautiful customized cake is from Sweet Myni, 5" Line Art Cake and the flavor is Moist Chocolate Cake with Dark Choco Ganache and Caramel Custard. Sweet Myni is a home bakeshop specializes in dainty, minimalist, ombre, character and mini cakes, they are located at Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.

This fancy cake doesn't just look so pretty, it also tastes good! It's a three-layer moist chocolate cake with two types of filling, dark choco ganache and caramel custard, and covered with whipped cream frosting.

My second time to try whipped cream frosting, the first one was my son's first birthday cake, and I love it because it's light and comforting. The moist chocolate cake for me is a bit airy in texture, semi-moist, not sweet which I like, and it really has that chocolate taste. The dark choco ganache filling is sweet with just a little hint of bitterness, and I'm surprised with the caramel custard filling because it's more on the bitter side. You put them all together and it's really good!

I have nothing more to ask except for a healthy, happy and peaceful family. Truly, I am happy, so blessed, and just grateful!!!

Rocha's Puto and Kutsinta

Probably the most common kakanin in every Filipino household, Puto and/or Kutsinta. You can buy it anywhere, in restaurants, eateries, bakeshops, and it's even being sold at your doorstep by mobile street vendors in the morning. Puto and/or Kutsinta has so many variations around the country, different textures, main ingredient, colors, sizes, types, toppings and technique in cooking. Personally, my favorite Puto of all time is Puto Calasiao of Pangasinan. As for the Kutsinta, I don't have any because most of it is pretty much the same, they only differ in color, chewiness and toppings.

Marikina City is a haven for anyone who loves to eat! And Rocha's Puto and Kutsinta is one of

the longest, well-known and famous putstore in the city. You can only buy it in a 50-piece box which costs ₱150, you can choose from Puto, Kutsinta or a Mix of both. We bought the Puto and Kutsinta Mix, because we both love it. You might want to contact the store to place your orders or reservations in the morning because it quickly runs out. This Rocha's Puto reminded me of Puto Calasiao because of its small size and their slight similarity in texture. Rocha's Puto is bright in color, orange or brown that adds appeal, it's a little jiggly in texture, sticky and moist, the taste is not too sweet, and it has a generous amount of cheese on top. The sweetness, the hint of saltiness from the cheese, and the texture makes it perfect! Rocha's Kutsinta also taste good, it's chewy and less sweeter than the puto. I like the puto more than the kutsinta. Rocha's Puto and Kutsinta is on my favorite list now!

Cabanatuan's Finest Longganisa

I love longganisa especially paired with fried rice and egg, that's one of the best breakfast for me! Longganisa is a type of sausage and has many variants all over the country. And Cabanatuan Longganisa from Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija is one of it!

The most famous Cabanatuan Longganisa is called Batutay or Beef Longganisa/Sausage. They also have the sweet-style which is called Hamonado, garlicky sausage that's Recado, or Skinless that means without the sausage casing.

Cabanatuan's Finest Longganisa is based in Nueva Ecija, however there are authorized sellers here in Metro Manila. In my case, I bought it from one of my friends. I think the best thing about Cabanatuan's Finest Longganisa is that their products looks really high-quality, clean and the meat itself doesn't shrink drastically when you're cooking it.

From all the Cabanatuan's Finest Longganisa, my favorite is the Hamonado variant. I love it because it really meaty, taste good with still the hint of garlicky flavor and that sweetness which is perfect for vinegar dip!

The other Cabanatuan's Finest products like Recado Garlic Longganisa, Cheezy Embutido and Chicken Skinless are also good. Worth really a try.
